Any idea what this plant is

any idea what this plant is.  It has a solid bulb with a distinctive beak on it.  Long green leaves in the spring and is now dying back and going all floppy.  Has never flowered.  Took to Gardeners World at Birmingham and no one had any idea. Not sure how to get a picture onto this thread

    Use the camera icon on the right hand side of the tool bar to post a photo.

    Colchicum are dying back now, they flower without leaves in the autumn.
