Replanting a Weeping Rose

Hi

Due to building work I am looking to replant a Weeping Rose tree i've had in the garden for about 4 years. I am literally only moving it about a foot, but it needs done. I know the summer isn't the ideal time but are there any MUST dos? Should I feed beforehand, should I prune hard, etc etc

    Hi Brycey. They will actually move easily but you have to appear brutal. Hard prune back the rose - no need to feed - until it looks like the kind you buy early in the year or at the back end of the year. Dig out with as much root as possible and move it. It will help if you can add some mycorrhizal fungi (David Austin do one) to the planting hole. Water in well and keep an eye on it. Good luck.
