Sage question
I am growing safe from seed - never grown it before so have some basic questions. First, I'm growing in nyc, on a balcony with direct light for a few hours in the morning. Is the sage supposed to flop over like this? Second, should I be plucking its leaves now to promote growth? I am concerned about the yellow leaves coming up now close to the dirt. Too much water? Too little light? would love a diagnosis.

it's not getting enough light but could be too much water as well. They're plants that grow naturally in dry sunny places. I'd cut off the long growth and use it.

Thanks nutcutlet! Would you cut them off leaf by leaf or the whole stem?
for the sake of the plant I'd take the whole stem. In the second photo it looks like there's healthy growth at the bottom. Cut just above that

Judging by the reflections in the photo, it looks as though the plant is indoors. This would tend to promote lax, floppy growth and the plant would benefit from being outdoors when the weather is good.
