Friend or foe?

Hi

The first 2 pics are of a plant which I don't recognise from last year so on that basis I figure a weed, could someone advise please:

the 3rd and 4th pics are of a plant which has been in the garden for a few years and comes back every year, I figure its not a weed but it is spreading and hopefully someone can tell me what it is please. I cant remember it flowering
