Whats this rogue?

Hi everyone,

please could you help me identify the following climber? Its voracious! Also if i should hack it back now? I think its originating in next doors garden  but it must now be 10 ft high and beginning to block light!

In May there was something (couldn't seem any actual flowers) which sent the bees crazy apart from that just leaves and it seems to die back in winter but its my first year here.imageimageimage

Any advice ideas appreciated.

Ist one looks like apple tree leaves. Has it got a climber coming through it.?

Can you trace it back to the base and see. ?

If its an apple, your neighbours will not be happy f you chop it back. Ask the neighbours if it is bothering  you.

  • No that's the actual climber. I will certainly have a chat with next door though. Thanks for you reply

Could it be an actinidia?  (Kiwi fruit)

Any chance of a photo of those long top growths? To show the stems and leaf arrangement. The top photo is very clear, the other less so for ID purposes.

Its Russian vine 'Mile a minute plant'. I don't think the top picture shows the Russian vine leaves - more likely the apple tree but the second and third pictures are definitely Russian vine.

I'd like to see those long stems clearly. Russian is a strong contender but it's not on its own as a thuggish climber.

    That's not Russian Vine.

This is a complete guess but could it be Bittersweet vine. (Celastrus orbiculatus)

I think it might be Fif2image
