    Helleborus foetidus. Likes a bit of lime in the soil, so pops up in the cracks in my paving.

    well isnt that weird... its in terrible earth as bottom of garden ..gets no feed or turned over etc etc... its a pretty large plant with others growing nearby... will it flower.!. must google & have a look at flower... thank you everyone for your input :)

    Helleborus foetidus is a native plant, it can survive without our ministrations.

    There used to be one growing wild on the motorway island growing next to a lamppost, until a helpful chap from the council sprayed it.image
