Anyone know what these are?

The first picture is part of a hedge. It has a nice scent to it.

The second one I think is a tree. It's hidden from view except for some overhang.

    I'd say Escallonia too.

    Could the second be one of the Daphnes? Not something I grow so not sure. image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I'd need to see the tree shape and some leaves and branches. Plant growing rather than the flower in hand.

    Best guess from that, Deutzia 'Montrose'

    That looks spot on, Nut.  It grows quite big so it could be seen as a tree, perhaps.  image
