Raspberry plants

I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me if they've had a problem with the spray solution Garlic,Veg Oil and dish soap. I wanted something organpic rather than chemical and seen this   mentoned in many sites.Unfortunately it seems to have damaged the leaves on my raspberry canes turning them brown and curling up at the edges.

Thanks.

I would be inclined to look on the Beechgrove Gardens face book page and contact them because they use garlic spray a lot, and they might be able to help you, because they use it for spraying against black spot on roses.I have made my own and used it against Lilly beetle and black spot with some success, the only thing I did find it seemed to deter Ladybirds so i seemed to have a lot of Aphids at the time. I had the same problem with my Autumn rasps last year I found it was a shortage of minerals so I gave them a spray with a solution of Epsom salts like i do with the tomatoes.

May I mention a strawberry problem? Unable to send via a new thread, for some reason.

Some of my plants are minus any flowers, so naturally no fruit forthcoming. Seems very strange. They look very healthy, so I am mystified.

Gerry, did you spray your raspberries when the sun was on them?  The leaves can scorch if that is the case.

Just out of interest, were you spraying against aphids, or as a tonic?

Incidentally, if you look at the ingredients on your bottle of dish soap you'll find it's full of chemicals...  image
