Tree/Leaf infection
Please could someone with knowledge help me identify this new infection/disease that has suddenly started appearing on a small but established tree in my garden. If possible i would be grateful for identification of the tree itself as it has grown from seed many years ago.

They're leaf galls, caused by a tiny insect. They do little harm to the tree and are nothing to worry about. My grape vine is covered with them

Thank you for the prompt reply. Is there any easy way of clearing this infection bearing in mind it's a small garden and we have a dog.
Since the galls do the plant no harm and the insects are inside the leaf and the damage is already done, there is not a lot you can do, except to remove the affected leaves. Personally I just ignore them.
Many thanks for your advice.
