Feeding tomato plants .
in Fruit & veg
When making a tomato feed up for 2 tomato plants I only need a small amount of feed so is it o k to leave the rest of the feed in watering can and then use it when they need feeding again so as it is not wasted.

Don't see why not
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I make it up in a large plastic milk container (emptied and washed of course). I just leave it in the greenhouse ready to use.
Then your watering can isn't sat there exclusively for tomatoes.
hi bugsbunny2as dove/ and kitty say yes ok to keep in container I use tom/food for cues also when I water my20 odd toms 3peppers and chilli s any left out of the 2nd watering can I use on the plants watered down dose not harm anything
Thank you for your reply
HI bugs - why not use the rest somewhere else in the garden? I thought tomato food was just a fertiliser high in potassium (potash) which promotes flower and fruit growth - it'll be just as useful for any roses or other heavy-flowering plants, or indeed heavy feeders like courgettes. I think!?
If you have Comfrey in the garden then why not make some Comfrey Liquid? It will store up to a year and has a perfect balance of nutrients, particularly for Tomatoes.
Yes - I use tomato food for lots of other flowering plants, especially sweet peas, as well as tomatoes. In fact, I hardly use any for tomatoes, as they only get a couple of feeds, and I only have a handful of them.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
