So many bug hotel links and stuff out there for making one of these.
Been meaning to do it for a long time.
Finally have the space to go for it.

In the sticks near Peterborough
The top left cormer I've left access to from the outside and covered over with the cut pallett wood so it should stay pretty dry. (Hoping maybe a hedgehog will get involved).
The top right I've laid down roof tiles amd bricks with a roof of tiles so it should be nice and cool and damp for maybe some frog action.
The front I've wedged full of rotting ivy and tree cuttings...

next pallet layer with a section of bamboo sticks and cut up logs of ash...
I totally underestimated how time consuming filling each section is.

I second Mark56.What a fantastic idea. Wish I'd space to have a bug/etc area. It looks really good and will be an interesting watch to see what has been attracted.
It's looking good! There is a bug hotel like that at Beth Chatto's garden, about a meter high. Good luck with the filling in...

Smaller ones can fit into any space, I made some out of my hubby's building scraps, only about 400 wide.
Bit wonky-donkey but the bees and bugs don't seem to mind! Even my cat was keen
Put some more near my veg patch, my courgettes are cropping big-time !
