Clematis Avalanche(?) ID and Position

I recently commenced the task of repainting our Summer House which meant cutting away a rather straggly looking clematis which on investigation might be an 'Avalanche'? See below.

It was, at one time, all up and around the windows but was a sorry looking affair. Not at all impressive so I had no qualms about cutting it the right to the base to allow me to do the work. As a result it has started to re-shoot rather vigorously and looks in good health. So I'm considering letting it develop however I don't really want it as sprawling as it was in the past. My question is, would it work to have it trained so that it's top was at window sill height. See pic below.

Would this be high enough for a plant of this type that it could flourish? I would plan on putting 2 or three horizontal support wires across the width. Thanks.

It only grows 6-8 ft so weave it across and back instead of letting it go straight up. That should work maybe. image

I agree with pp. Should do well.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I guess I won't see flowers till next year. Quick additional question. I managed to step on the ends of two of the new shoots and subsequently clipped them off. Will that stop these shoots from developing further I.e should I cut them back to the remaining main stem and let them start again? Thanks
