Beware using a "weed/moss-killer and feed" if your lawn is mainly moss and weeds ... I did this once and had a black and bare 'lawn' for most of the summer!
If anyone has a weed-rich lawn you could always let it grow and call it a wild meadow! The insects would vote for that.
Granma - what it really comes down to is - how do you want your grass to look. If you want centre court at Wimbledon you need a LOT of time to put into it. If you just want a reasonable green space, you don't.
Regular cutting and a bit of weed and feed in spring will give you a nice 'lawn' to enjoy through summer
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
