Star Jasmine advice please
Hi everyone...this aft I planted up 2 Star Jasmine.
I used a mix of MPC and JI No.3 ( 50 / 50 mix ) and added a little grit help with the drainage.
Firstly, is the soil mix OK, or would I have been better just using MPC on its own?
Secondly, the pots I used are very big ( can't really tell from the shots ) so would it be OK to put in some small bedding plants to help fill the space, or would that be detrimental to the Star Jasmine?
Thanks

Well , no expert here but my jasmines do very well. I use MPC and FBB and they do fine. As regards top planting, I don't see why not, a few bedding plants to cover ..... You just don't want a thug in there that will compete with the jasmine roots.
Thanks Flora...as for the bedding, I was thinking some trailing Lobelia or maybe some Forget Me Nots.

Small annuals such as lobelia, busy lizzies or those small begonias ('Semperflorens) would be fine. Their roots are easy to pull out when they've finished.
Personally I wouldn't put geraniums in, they grow quite big roots and when you want to pull them out it could disturb the compost and the jasmine roots.
Thanks EM...have decided to go with some Alyssum
