propagation from cutting

maya.jmaya.j Posts: 2

Hello, I'm trying to root laurel plants from cutting, doing well so far, I have several plants in propagator now for another 4 weeks..not sure what to do next, can they go straight into ground in the garden (after hardening), or do I have to put them into pots first, can somebody please help?

Pot them up in some good compost, I'd use JI No.1 for rooted cuttings and smallish pots (don't want to  overwhelm them with too much cold, wet earth), and let them grow on a bit before planting them out. It will give them time to develop a decent root system before facing the great outdoors and all its terrors.

I think I would grow them on in pots (outside) now Maya and think about planting them out next Spring once the frosts have disappeared.

Thanks guys, I'll invest in some pots to let them get stronger before planting outside
