What's digging up the seeds

Hi, I know mice are notorious for digging up pea/bean seeds etc but do they like spring onion seeds?
twice now I've sown spring onions in modules and twice I go and find dips in the soil like something has had a dig and no sign of anything germinating!
Any ideas TIA

I had a mouse digging in the corner of a tray of onion seed back in February. A mouse trap stopped it.

try putting a lid over the tray until they germinate which may help with detering the checky thief
Thats how i plant my spring onions in modules and plant out in a clump when ready
