I planted a Blue magnolia 2 years ago it has not flowered at all and has only shooted two leaves, I have dug it up and potted it in compost and put it in a sheltered spot...any advice on why it hasn't
thrived and what I can do to help it on its way please?

What is a blue magnolia? I've never heard of one.
Blue magnolia, blue strawberry, blue roses. There's a bit of a theme running here. That being said, I have seen blue potatoes and blueberries.
Did you buy the plant off the internet? Maybe it was photoshopped.
Is it a Magnolia acuminata, aka blue magnolia or cucumber tree?
or are you expecting blue flowers?
New one on me so I did a search. After a boutique and some holiday cottages I found Magnolia acuminata, aka cucumbertree (all one word). Don't know why it's called blue, the flowers are yellow/green. Is this the one Denise?
It's a big tree and trees have to mature before they flower
In the sticks near Peterborough
Magnolia acuminata is a huge tree from the eastern USA, even in the British climate it has reached 80 ft over here. The green flowers are probably the least impressive of any Magnolia, but the huge leaves make it an impressive foliage tree [for a park that is] and the immature fruit look like mini cucumbers, hence the tree's common name in America. You need a big garden for this tree. It is one of the parents of the beautiful Magnolia "Elizabeth"
Its a magnolia as in any magnolia...it is 3/4 foot high and I bought it 3 years ago in a garden centre...tag said Blue magnolia...flowers are blue in bud and turn yellow when opening...thats about all I remember the tag said.
Our magnolia is now approx 6 years old - it didn't flower for the first couple of years whilst it was establishing a good root system.
