    They make too much mess when you stamp on them .I just put them in a milk bottle and when its time just put thm in the bin.The beetles made am awful mess of the leaves on my plants but I think the old pliers did the trick.

    GD haha please don't, I had more than my fair share last year. It takes me ages to patrol and squish with the amount of lilies I have

  • Well - for the last couple of days no lily beetles to be seen here so perhaps they have got the message that they are not welcome and have moved on to another garden!  At least I don't have a guilty conscience since I haven't killed a single one this year. I am not sure what their flying radius is Sophie but I think your lilies are safe from my unwanted guests.

  • That's pretty, lovely colour - I am intrigued Nanny Beach. Here is a picture of mine, approx 18 inches tall and on their 4th year, taken yesterday - just before they get moved to the other end of the garden due to the strong perfume - not sure of the name.image

    There are some red ones as well, not out yet, they are about 8 inches tall, just sold as ground cover lillies, no smell, promised someone, (sorry forgotten who) a pic cos they didnt like the strong smell of your "usual" lillies
