Aspirin for Tomatoes
in Fruit & veg
Having read about the benefits of sraying the leaves with a solution - I bought some 'dispersible aspirin' 300mg as I couldn't get the soluble. Of course this leaves a lot of particulate which I suspect will block the spray nozzle.
However I also assume the active ingredient required will be dissolved so I could filter out the 'chalk' etc. before putting into the sprayer.
What do you think?
Cheers, John

I think "dispersible" is just a more precise way of describing what we refer to as "soluble" aspirin. I have used them in a sprayer without problems.
Do tomatoes get headaches or suffer from blood clots?

Asprin is salicylic acid - exactly the same as the growth hormone in plants - so good for reviving sickly plants and also for giving some oomph to cut flowers if put i their vase water - one aspirin to a pint of water.
Interesting, and thanks for the link - I'm registered with blightwatch, so maybe I'l give it a go if I get a warning.
