Poppy blight

I dug mine up today, the stem was almost 'hollowed out' at the base, and more dry mould.

However, the root system looked good and one stem (the much smaller one to the right of the main one on the photo) looked healthy.  Suggests to me that it's not a disease as surely all stems would be affected (?), so I removed the poorly stems and replanted, with a handful of slug pellets around it.

    Fingers crossed.

Tarttartan, sorry I can't help you - hope someone can!

A friend has now suggested that its more likely to be fungal rather than a virus but to resist planting another poppy in the same spot.   It would seem there are a few gardeners around who are having poppy problems and although its a nuisance its reassuring to know we are not alone with our gardening problems.   Thanks everyone.
