in Fruit & veg
Hi, looking for advice about how to grow watercress. I've got a stone trough which has water running through, although not always in summer. Would it be possible to grow it in this and how. It is in shade as north facing. Thank you for reading

Thanks both, I'd read the Alys Fowler article. Will try as she says but had just fancied some in trough too.
Go for it - it tumbles down the waterfall in my fish pond and soaks up lots of stuff I don't want in the pond.
And yes, I do eat it - after a thorough wash.

Thanks Pete, I'll try both approaches! Does yours grow in soil at side of pond or a pot??
It just grows from the header pool at the top of the waterfall, there's a big clump of some yellow grass stuff in there and it just made itself at home there. I pull out lots every week it grows so quickly.
It disappears over winter but pops up again in the spring - usually.
If not I just buy some from the s/market and pop in a few 'cuttings'
Try a few different methods and see which works best for you
Good luck!
