Rambling Roses

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good, disease resistant rambler that does not grow too big?  I want one, preferably in pink to grow up my 6 foot fence.  I like the look of Dorothy Perkins but it's prone to mildew.

Many thanks,

Anita.

I can't recommend an actual rose, but I think you need a climber rather than a rambler as they are too vigorous for what you want.

    In London. Keen but lazy.

ive just received a supposed well behaved rambling rose today it's called super fairy and is light pink and it is also a repeat flowerer, most only flower once. alternately a small climber

David Austin have one called Lady of the Lake - repeat flowering, perfumed, disease resistant and pink with an open centre so good for pollinators. Gets to about 15' which is ideal for training along horizontal wires stretched between wires attached to your fence posts or a trellis.

I haven't grown one myself but it's on my list for a new rose feature I'm planning.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
