Fruitless Pear Tree

Just planted a young Conference Pear tree on my allotment (September 2015 if I recall).

Tree remains very healthy and earlier this year produced an abundance of blossom followed by young fruits. However, over the past 2-3 weeks all the fruits have fallen off. No fruit left on tree?

The tree as I say looks a picture of good health. Watered regular since planting.

(At the same time I planted 2 dwarf apple trees alongside which both are producing an abundance of fruit). There are other pear trees planted within a couple of metres - on the neighboring plot.

Same here on all 3 pear trees so probably the weird weather causing more "June drop" than usual.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Thanks Bob,  for taking the time to reply. Have to wait till next year then see what happens..though I checked this morning and I have ONE pear on the tree .. so not ALL bad news then! - if it's still there tomorrow etc

    Thanks again Bob

Does anyone have experience with curing biennial bearing in young dwarf apples; I have had similar problems as here experienced by Bob and Mixymax, involving a Bramley, a Blenheim, a Winston, and a Laxton, and begin to think biennial bearing may be the problem --Bramleys, Blenheims and Laxtons I have seen noted. I know it's a bit off the thread, but the Laxton's Superb [for example] had a splendid flowering and fruiting last year, but this year had an excellent crop of leaf but no blossom!
