Nepeta mussinii is the most likely one that you have Aym. It's very common, has lovely blue flowers loved by bees and pollinating insects; it's great for anyone trying to encourage wildlife into their gardens and so good for the bees who are having such a hard time now.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
I had a border full of giant catmint and the bees loved it.
I did find it squashed in the middle sometimes as if some UFO activity had occurred and all became clear when I saw next doors cat appearing out from it and spraying before he trundled off :-/ I don't like cats and I've not seen him since it was pulled up (unrelated).

Check which type yours are aym. Like Andy says it may not be the catty one.
Mine is the nepeta cataria (catmint) one that the OP peanuts was asking about.
I bought one a good sized nepeta which is now dead as my three cats have rolled on it until it was completely squashed.

Cats haven't discovered mine yet.
Made me think of this.

Why did you buy it then?
The bees seem to like it as much as cats do.
