any suggestions for clematis to plant with a well established veilchenblau ramber?

A superb rose, but it would be difficult to have a clematis in flower at the same time and height as your Veilchenblau, I remember it being once flowering and quite tall ? Most of the suitable clematis for growing in tandem, viticella pinks, reds, whites, several of the small flowered species, or the ' yellows ' would only flower after the rose.
The Early Large Flowered Hybrids would flower at same time but would not look good and most would not be tall enough.
Viticella Abundance is a good pink, smaller flowered, vigorous climber which would look good through the framework of your rose after it has flowered.
The name Abundance is reckoned to be because of the abundance of flowers.
