Help please with my diseased tree

my tree has developed a rather nasty disease.  I am taking off branches with the diseased leaves on - is this enough?  will the trunk survive?   Can anyone help?

thank you (Trainee gardener)imageimageimage

it looks like it has been  infested with some type of insect rather than a disease, i'm not sure what but someone else will be along to tell you :)

It has the look of damage by the viburnhams beetle and its larvea. Can you post a picture of some healthy leaves?

Thanks Dave, here are the healthiest leaves I could find:  imageimageimage

  • It looks very much like the damage to a viburnum in our garden, when you get very close you can see dozens of tiny caterpillars munching away. The only remedy is to spray and/or cut away all the damaged leaves.

Thank you John, I'm currently cutting it right back, then I'm going to spray whats left and keep it all crossed.
