I D please

This was flowering in Brittany in a friends garden about two weeks ago, haven't got a clue what it's called.

would really like to know the name of it anyone out there no it,imageimage

    It looks as if it could be Philadelphus Belle Etoile. Was it sweetly scented, as one of its other names is Mock Orange because of its scent.

    My first thought was quince, but I think they have five petals ... :-/

    Medlar? Looks the same to me.

    Oh lordy it's gone all giant but you get the idea.

    If you open pic in a new tab it goes back to normal.

    I've seen the fruit before (my father-in-law's cousin shared his) but not the tree.  Nice.
