Drooping rose flowers

[Glen][Glen] Posts: 76

Hi all

I'm a novice gardener with a few rose bushes.

One of these bushes has difficulty holding its flowers off the ground. The flowers weigh enough to bend their stems, such that the flowers face the turf below. These are planted outside and the soil is moist.

Any ideas?

    Hi Glen image

Do you know the variety of the rose in question?  Could you post some photos to give us some clues please?

I don't know. Can these photos help identification?

Unfortunately bad weather is reducing the number of flowers. Many of the 10-15cm flower stems bend until their flower is resting on a branch or on the turf, and they typically snap when it rains. Is the weight of water a problem for some varieties?

Mine is a similar colour to yours and the weight of them mixed with wind and rain makes them wilt downwards. I'm having to tie everything and cross my fingers!
