Hi all

my Gladiator Alliums have finished flowering - after twisting the stems to remove from bulb - is it ok to put the bulbs in the boarder for next year ? Currently they are in a pot - thanks image

The foliage should be left on till it dies back Tray. Like any other bulb, the foliage is what feeds the bulb for next year. You could give them a liquid feed just now to compensate  if you've already taken the foliage off.

Anything in a pot can be planted out at any time of year, unless the ground is waterlogged or frozen - hopefully that's not the case just now! image

Pick a sunny spot with nice sharp drainage for them.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
