Thanks Steve will get some cash out

  • It rained. I got some roses and a whisk requiring a highly suspicious wrist action. Felt the floral tent had worsened.

I'm going tomorrow. Been to Southport and Tatton Park shows but first time at Gardeners World live. Train gats in just after 11.

Last time I was at the NEC was to see The Who"s final concert...

We've booked to see A.T and M.B, I'm taking a selfy stick  in case there's opportunity to take a pic...image

  • Oh, and I met Snow, albeit briefly!

  • Been today, and really enjoyed it. bought too many packets of seeds again though!! Lots of good plants for sale -all the stands seemed to be doing a brisk trade.image

What a lovely day, had my photo taken with Paul Rankin, what a nice guy. Came home with a scarecrow for the allotment and lots of seeds. Not enough time to see everything though, the day went so quickly.

Im pleased people have enjoyed their visits to GW Live. I first went around 2009 and enjoyed it, even bought an expensive greenhouse whilst there. I returned a couple of years later and thought it was a very poor show, hardly anything there and I haven't been back since. Seems like its returned to being a good show?

  • We thought it was quieter and the floral tent was half empty...

Leadfarmer. It was a lot quieter than the Southport and Tatton Park shows I've been too but a lot bigger than both. We put it down to being quiet because it was a weekday.

The friend I went with thinks gardening is like watching paint dry, I sold the trip to her on the basis she would enjoy the Goodfood Show and it didn't disappoint, the celbs were out in force, with book signings, talks and audiences...Paul Rankin was selling bread on a stall...Would have liked to have gone again today as the hairy bikers were there. Unfortunately the gardening celbs fell on stony ground, my friend had only heard of Alan T and has only watched GW on TV once...which was last Friday..image

The out door garden section was a bit of a whirl wind tour for me. Thought said friend was going to break into a jog, to get out, when I suggested we just walked down one side of the floral hall..but we spent more time looking at the gardensimage and had a drink in Witherspoons before getting the train home .       .

Been to gardeners world live many times and it gets worse when first went it was all gardening and no food show and it was fantastic now it's really poor where was RHS and all the big plant nurseries like David Austin . The food show has its own show in November so why can't GW go back to just being about gardening. I will stick to going to Malvern from now on it was great and floral marquee fab
