digitalis from seed
Does anyone have any tips on raising Digitalis Grandiflora from seed? I have success with many other varieties of digitalis but I struggle with Grandiflora.

Digitalis need light, don't cover them. I've germinated them from spring and autumn sowings, no heat.
Your post reminds me that however many I may have germinated in the past, there are none to be seen in the garden now

Thanks nutcutlet, I have no problem germinating digitalis per se, just this one variety. I have tried different seed sources, heat, no heat, different timings, but to no avail. Grandiflora is reliably perennial as is lutea and lanata which I've had no problem with, just Grandiflora. I'm now giving seeds a spell in fridge before sowing, to mimic their natural cycle. Will wait and see.
