What shall i do about it?

I had it last year on my apple tree. I'm sure I read moisture levels in the soil and air affect it, the drier conditions making it worse. I just cut off the affected areas and made sure I watered it more in dry conditions. I also give it a little spray of liquid seaweed . This year my tree looks so much better
I would also pinch off the worst affected tips and this will also act as 'summer pruning' which will encourage more fruiting spurs to develop for the future.
Thanks for your reply's, there is only one little piece affected, the bit i pictured. I have took it off so fingers crossed.
Thanks again.
