Ash tree saplings
Every year my front garden is inundated with ash saplings, ranging from small to large. I find them when they are about 3" high, if I'm lucky. If not I find them among my shrubs 3 - 4 feet high. what can I put on them to kill them. I can pull out as many a 15 at a time.

I have these and field maple, sycamore and Norway Maple, though the parent tree has been gone for a couple of years. I pull them out as babies, if not, I dig them out when the ground is wet, If I leave them too long I excavate a bit and cut them off below ground.

I first notice them when they pop out of the top of the privets.
Sounds about right musher There's a 10foot sycamore emerging from the top of an 8 foot viburnum. That may be beyond extraction, cut back only

I've got a twenty foot laburnum (spindly twiggy thing that it is) emerging from the highest, thickest corner of my laurel hedge. Pretty sure it's not meant to be there...
Thank you for your comments. At least I don't feel so alone. I will battle on!
