New Deep Raised bed

An Update....if you are interested
I originally made a RB 5 foot long and 2 scaf boards tall and filled it with compost from our Community Garden
http://thegoldenhillcommunitygarden.com/
The level of compst dropped and it had weeds
I built a new RB from scaf boards and made it 3 boards deep and just 4 foot wide and filled it with alternate layers of manure and brand new seived soil that I got from the local GC
The carrots and parsnips and beets and radish are thriving and no weeds or slugs
It cost about £200 all told but its a pleasure to see
This is not boasting on my behalf but merely passing a sucess story to share
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.

Hi NewBoy. Thank you for sharing that. A very good achievement.

Many thanks
We do volunteering work at our Community Garden at the end of the allotments as above and one of our weekly " visitors " likes to water my plot. Its extremely rewarding for me and it helps increase their self esteem and enable them to start relationships with us. Im sure this happens in lots of CG s and its an alternative to the usual "prescriptions " of our NHS.......sorry bit political there
Our CG is a centre of peace and kindness which is not always found outside the boundary
