Thanks for sharing your methods, I'm about a month behind with my leeks this year but I have to cover mine with fleece as they were hit bad by leek moth in late August a couple of years ago, I have spaced mine 8 inches apart to give them plenty of air flow as mine always seem to get hit with rust. I'v just removed the fleece and weeded them well and no sign of rust yet so keeping fingers crossed for a good crop this winter.
