  • Japanese anemone for me as well, pretty but invasive.

I wish it was invasive in my garden. I put a clump in 4 years ago and although it flowers every year it hasn't spread nor even thickened up into a sturdier clump. It's a pale pink variety with darker leaves, I've not seen the lighter leaved one as shown above, think I need to pop out to the garden centre !

  • It's the pale pink one I've got, tried to move it but it keeps popping up again. I'm on very free draining soil so maybe that's it.

There are quite a few varieties and colours, a dwarfing one was at Chesea last year called white swan but I've not seen it anywhere to buy.

Chrissy - they don't tend to be invasive here -  wet clay soil. Even when it's improved it's not an issue.

I only grow the white ones - Whirlwind is nice as it's semi double
