What is this weed ?

this weed, and all his mates, have taken over a part of the garden I haven't been able to get to for a while. what is it and what's the best way to get rid of it?

    Looks like a buttercup, dig it out with a fork or spray with roundup.

    Hi. I agree with Tall Tress - its a buttercup and digging it out is the best way.

    They spread by underground runners as well as seed (which last for decades in the ground) so agree with hoiking them out quick!

    I did more investigating and they are well and truly everyone at the top of my garden. Looks likevI have my work cut out.....
