Mature creeping plants

Hi all,

We have just begun work on a seating area in our garden. One of our plans is to build a trellis style 'roof' out of bamboo canes and then have some sort of creeping plant (ivy, as an example) come up from the flower bed and cover the top, to provide a canopy.

It seems that all we can find online are small plants which, I imagine, would take a long time to mature to the size we require. Would anyone know the best way to acquire mature creepers around 8-10 ft long?

thanks in advance!

  • Honeysuckle is quick growing, and smells beautiful. Your local GC would have a choice of suitable plants - the more mature the more expensive they will be. I like Wisteria but that may be too heavy for bamboo canes.
