Noticed this today on my roses. Does anyone know what it is?

Hi. This is a rose gall caused by either bacteria or insects. just cut out the shoot/s affected and throw them in the recycle bin.

Hi Julie. Regarding Tetley's comment. The stuff put into the council green recycle bins is steam treated to kill off any bacteria/insects found therein and composted, which is why I made that suggestion as opposed to my suggesting you put it into your personal compost bin where the unwelcome things may not be killed. I'm not altogether sure where he gets his compost from! image
