Garlic failure
in Fruit & veg
So I just harvested my garlic growing since Nov last year and it's a disaster, bulbs were like thin spring onions and the trough was just a mass of roots under the soil. Any ideas what happened or what I might have done wrong? I thought growing garlic was easy

Hi Steve
i planted my garlic last October and it is still in the ground,,, ready end of July
have fed regular with growmore and comfrey and they are looking fine and look forward to digging them up and using as fresh green garlic and dry and store
have you had your garlic planted in a pot and were you advised to dig it up early june as i have never harvested up in the north east as early as june
You may however be further south where you are about a month ahead in some crops
Inormally plant my cloves six inches apart one and half inches deep and forget about them until i see them breaking the ground which is about late Jan early Feb
Dont give up try again as there is no better flavour trust me
Happy gardening
