Cherry blossom tree advice
Hi folks,
We've just moved into a house and we'd love a cherry blossom tree in our small garden. I'd love to buy one which is already mature so that we can enjoy it sooner rather than later as I know the smaller trees can take up to 10 years to mature and start to flower. Where would be the best place to purchase such a tree? Any general advice?! We are new to gardening and have absolutely no idea where to start! Please help!!
Thanks

Any good garden centre. They usually have a decent selection. You can buy them online from specialist tree nurseries. Just an idea, a alternative. The Cercis family of trees have nice blossom in the spring. But may not perform as well if the previous winters been a bad one. Just a idea
The best and cheapest way is to buy a bare-root tree which are available from November to about March. However, you can buy potted trees which can be planted at any time but are expensive (I would expect them to be £100 upwards) and you want one supplied in at least a 40 litre pot. Here's an example website where such trees are available:

Garden centres it depends what part of the country you live in. I live in North West. And fortunate near by a garden centre that sold me a weeping 6 foot flowering cherry for £39
I'm in Rickmansworth near Watford! I've seen many online for a similar price. How long did yours take to mature and start flowering?
I bought it in the spring. And flowered the following spring.
I've seen ones for £30 in South East. I'm looking at getting a Kanzan, I saw said cherry tree flowering in the GC.
Thanks
My favourite is the prunus shirofugen
Take a look here: http://bunkershillgardenshop.co.uk/ornamental-trees/flowering-cherry-prunus/, if you are prepared to have a day out around Oxford/Woodstock.
Recently got a bare root ~7ft crabapple and a weeping cherry for 50 GBP. However unless you want to drive to Oxford/Woodstock, it may not be worth it as their shipping rates are aren't the cheapest!
New to this forum, so not sure about sharing shop links. If this is not allowed -apologies.
