Sunflowers
Morning All,
I was given a mixed packet of sunflower seeds with a mixture of giant and teddy flowers. Is there anyway of distinguishing which is which? The seeds all appeared the same but now I'm at the point where they're ready to go into the ground if they're giant ones.

Impossible to tell
If you let them grow a little bigger then maybe the faster grower could be the tall one.
Not really possible to tell from the photos. I had three varieties - American giant, Sunshine giant and Oranges and Lemons. I put them all in small cups and didn't label them. According to packet - American giant grows to 10m, Sunshine to 6m and Oranges and Lemons to 4m. I could only tell the latter because the seeds were red, and the stalks are also dark red. When the first two varieties were at the early stages like yours, I couldn't tell. Even now they are in the ground outside and have grown quite a lot to about a metre but I am still not able to tell which is which! You might just have to wait and see.
