in Fruit & veg
Hi all,
I'm new here, so hi everyone.
Im writing as ive started growing tomato 'attraction' this year, and as i usually absoluely love the smell of toms, i swear these ones the leaves smell like sick!!!!! could it be the soil, or something else? or maybe its just me and i should leave it (no pun intended)? ive used peat free compost.

I think it may just be you....
Maybe it's down to the temperature where you are, different volatile chemicals are released at different temperatures. Hopefully the aroma will improve.
I've been growing toms for more yrs than I care to remember, sometimes the leaves smell a bit strange, but the toms are (usually) lovely.
I doubt it has anything to do with the substrate your growing them in
