Finishing Touches
So
I have a great space in the garden which I have recently turfed, there is still a lot of space to work with, I am however looking for ideas, I am a novice gardener and have several pots and containers already with blueberries, gooseberries, apple trees and will be using the small bricked off section for vegetables. I am a bit lost with what to do with the large patch of soil to the left and the section (which already has plants) in front of the fence.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

There are lots of annual bedding plants in the garden centres at the moment which will brighten it up a bit. Some of the larger ones like cosmos or cleome will give some height.
Be careful with putting Blueberries into pots they often die if the compost dries out.
Looks like the fence at the back gets a good amount of sun so you should have success there. Rather than tell you what I like you might get more benefit finding some plant sales and garden centres/nurseries and just buying what takes you fancy. As a rough guide maybe something tall at the back (hollyhock, lupins, fox gloves, crocosmia, hell even sunflowers) and some bedding plants in front/middle (wallflowers, geraniums, verbena, petunias or nicotiana rarely succomb to slugs) and something small at the very front (Ajuga- slug-proof, I think).
The only thing you might find missing is somewhere to sit?
Thanks both
I had thought of bedding plants but the space is sizeable (the right hand side is 1.5m x 7m) and I must admit I did get a bit overwhelmed at a local nursery the other day. My aim of putting down lawn was to have an area for the kids to play (I have a newborn and a 2 year old) while leaving the rest of the space for environmentally friendly stuff (I have a compost bin behind the garage, wildflowers round the front and I have a significant number of veg coming along nicely. I built a picnic bench today which will go on the grass (somewhere) and where the pots are just now will become the BBQ area, with the pots moving to the space underneath the window
Fruit and Veg I am good at, flowers and shrubs are uncharted territory.
