Pyracantha

hello fellow green fingered friends

do you have any tips to propagate pyracantha plants from soft wood cuttings?

    I should imagine you take a good length. Cut tbe lower stem off just below a leaf node. Strip the leaves off  until there just below the tip. If you have a propagator stick them in there. Until tbey show new life.

    They may benefit from being dipped in hormone powder also.

    take them when this years growth get to about 4 inches long,

    remove the bottom two thirds leaves and side branches,

    nip the tip out,

    place into a well draining compost (around the outside of a pot works best),

    water, place somewhere shady and wait, next year - free plants!

    I find things root better in damp vermiculite. Keep the pot on a north facing windowsill until the cuttings have rooted.
