Are these new leaves that have grown this year, or last year's leaves?

  • It's a plant I recently bought. Looked good until a few days ago.

I have several of these ferns - I keep them in a shady spot - has yours been in bright sunlight?

Alternatively had it been kept in a sheltered/mild/protected spot and now it is in a more exposed site?

  • Wasn't in a particularly sunny spot but I've had it for a couple of weeks and haven't planted it yet. may have let it get a bit dry in pot. Also live on horrendously windy hillside. are you on Instagram-would live to see pictures of your ferns in situ?

Fiona, I have one in a pot in a semi-shaded position and 2 small ones in a windy exposed area (SW Scotland).  I would give it a good soak and into a larger pot.

  • Ok thanks. I'll give that a go and hopefully the beautiful silvery colour will be restored. So wind doesn't seem to affect the colouring it seems. Ta for advice.
