Dog urine burning lawn

We've had our boy pup almost a month now and burn patches are starting to appear yellow. They are probably on the milder side compared to others I've seen but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions? Will it grow back? I've heard the rocks you put in their water aren't recommendable as they can harm their kidneys. The same thing for adding 'tomato juice'. I guess diluting it with water is the only way. However, when he does learn to cock his leg I'm hoping it won't be as bad. The problem seems to arise from too much nitrogen and emptying their bladder in one spot.
In the meantime Barney says hello

I'm afraid chasing him with a watering can is about all you can do for now I think. Thankfully I've never had this with my girls but I know people who have. It'll grow back soon.
Still cute Barney
Thanks plant pauper, I'm hoping it'll wear off
As he learns to cock his leg you'll find he'll develop the joys of having to mark *everything* so pee spots get more varied and less of a problem.
Til then keep your watering can handy!
hi to all when I had 3bitchs my back garden was patches all over what I did when I seen the doing the wee I have the hosepipe on full spray give it good water so as it dilutes grass comes back ok
He's adorable
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yip that's the way Michael. Your dogs must have lived in fear when they were widdling in case you got a previous with the hose.
It's worse with bitches, apparently, because it all goes in one place but with dogs once he gets on three legs it'll be fine! Poor barney...he'd be mortified if he knew we were talking about him.
DaaaAAAAaaaaad!

Maybe I could section off an area and fertilise with patch fix? Barney isn't too bad with my flowers thankfully (touch wood). I think they may learn it from other male dogs, so we may have to find him a training buddy
hi plant pauper my spanial and lab never used to mind about the hose pipe but the old jack Russell hated water she would walk around a puddle or tip toe through it hated getting her feet wet lab or spanial had a hard time to stop them in water but only a lab left now.. and no matter what anyone says about any dogs they mostly only turn out the way the owners TRAIN THEM michael
