Grass over path

Whats the best way to tidy the grass that grows over your path? we have a brick path leading to the front door which is looking messy with grass starting to overlap. I could use my half moon edger but that could give a messy trench effect. Scissors or shears? It's not long grass per say as we mow straight over and it's not really bad just not really neat.

Hi Meely. I would just use the edger
If the path's not too long, I would use a large pair of scissors. Also useful for dispatching any slugs you come across on the way
OH uses a strimmer on ours but then we do have a big lawn with either railway sleeper or granite paver edgings along most of it.
Using the half moon or long handled edging shears along the brick edge will keep it neat and trimmed.
Yip. Edger for me. You think you're wasting your time and then you see the before and after. Definitely worthwhile.

I should have mentioned edging shears do nothing for me I've got some fiskars ones (as a rule I like this brand) but I just seem to find them frustrating. I think for lawn to border shears would work fine but half moon edging spade or a knife I suspect is going to be the way I go simply because I think the grass has actually grown onto the path of that makes sense. Its bucketing down here or I would have got on with it. Thanks to everyone who replied!
