Blueberry bush problems!
in Fruit & veg
Morning all,
my blueberry bush is in its second year and has flowered this spring for the first time. The flowers are now shedding but aren't revealing any fruit?! I thought that the fruit would be growing inside the bloom - any help would be greatly received as this is my first blueberry! Photos below.

Ok great, thank you for your reply! I was just expecting them to be more like a strawberry where the fruit has swelled a lot more before the flowers fall. I'll have to be more patient in future
They look OK to me to, Remember to water as it is in a pot don't let it dry out especially while the fruits are setting having said that also make sure it doesn't sit in water.
sometimes they pollinate better if you have more than one plant.
They are acid lovers so feed with ericacious feed as and when necessary.
protect the fruit from birds, they like blueberries and before you know it the fruit you have been waiting patiently for has disappeared.
Thank you Chrissy, I think with this warm weather I may start watering twice a day now as the flowers did look a little dry over the weekend but not sure if that's just because they were ready to fall.
They look ok use rain water and get another plant to cross pollinate
Hi Logan,
Could you explain a little more about another plant to cross pollinate? I'm a novice so I only know the basics! Does it need to be a specific kind of plant and would it be in the same pot or separate?
Hi Dani
It needs another blueberry plant so the bee's can go from one to the other in a separate pot
