Flagpole Cherry - Amanogawa

Hi,
I have the above tree, and this spring it has sported a lot of top growth. This is now making it top heavy.
The tree is about two meters in total height, this top growth on a quite narrow trunk is blowing about in the wind. It is staked up to about one meter.
I'm worried it will snap. Am I suppose to stake it even higher? Is it resilient to such buffeting?

Sounds like it needs a haircut...
Well, it's supposed to be a single stem tree. If I cut it that'll defeat the purpose.
But nevertheless thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Leigh. Don't stake it any higher. As long as it has the lower staking, the movement of the upper section of the tree stimulates roots into growing stronger. Prunus are fairly resilient
